Man, I miss having easy internet access. I mean, I have internet access at work and stuff, but then I'm just, you know, working. Anywho, I'm here late doing non-work related stuff, killing time before I go to look at a rental place. Fingers crossed, I really need to stop living out of a box on the farm. I don't see what landlords have against people with two dogs. Jude was a much bigger danger to home and hearth before he had a buddy to hang out with.
Everyday this week I've ridden my wienie-mobile through the coastal range and down into Newport. A commute that is an hour because of distance, rather than traffic, is not so bad, especially since I'm traveling through beautiful country. It would be much improved if my CD player or radio was working. Now it's just me, the peaceful morning mountaintop and a rousing a cappella chorus of Devo's "Whip it" to while away the drive.
The farm is peaceful-it sure is relaxing to watch the farmhands toil in the veggies while I loll about slugging down cheap wine on the front steps of my temporary abode. I'm camped out on a futon next to the bathroom, but I'm surrounded by lavendar, mexican sunflowers and a variety of other pretty blooms, so that's not so bad. Still, I hate being an imposition, and try to stay out of the way as much as possible.
Updates will be sporadic until I have real sho-nuff internet.
