How the frig did it get to be August (almost)? It seems like nothing much marks the time for us these days besides the weekly arrival of the unemployment check and the monthly payment of the student loan debt.
I just got back from another work imposed exile-a trip to San Jose. I swear, you'd think they'd want me in the office more, but I'm not complaining. It's nice to finally be able to travel (and get paid for it!). I took the opportunity to take the train down and back, which was nice but also VERY long (about 17 hours worth one way). As long as it was, it was much less hassle and stress free than dealing with the airport and all that garbage. And I completed travel without getting lost, missing my ride or any major mishaps-a first. Now maybe they'll stop making fun of the way my travel plans go awry (or, as they say, the way I screw up the simpliest of plans).
But it's hard to be too down. All my utilities have been paid in full, and I'm current on my student loans thanks to a little grant I managed to land and I have high hopes that J and Job are soon to be one.
