Well, the week is proceeding on, and I can't wait to be a little more bored with my life. Ran into work this morning, ran up to the rez, took the damn hell bar exam, ran back to the farm, packed, dazedly drove up I5 (thinking gorey thoughts all while cars whizzed by), got in and am ready for Phase II: figuring out what the hell we can bring on the plane, and Phase III: dropping the dogs off at the unsuspecting boarding facility.
We have found a place to move to, so, as soon as we fly in on Monday, it will be off to the rental truck place, and the loading and unloading and the blah blah blah.

Busy lak the little bee, that's me. The last few weeks have been hectic, between trying to find a place, trying to learn the ropes, and trying to get ready for the wedding. We've got a house on the line that may work out-it is in the process of being sold, so things have really been up in the air. We were supposed to be able to move in this weekend, but between one thing and another, that hasn't worked. So, it looks like I'll be futoning it with the farmhands for a while longer. Hopefully, we can do paperwork early next week, fly out to Wisconsin (We leave next Thursday!), fly back to Portland, pack everything into the moving truck and J can unload while I return to work. What fun.
Next week is going to be a horror of busyness. Our office is being audited, I have to take the tribal bar exam (to practice law in the local tribal court) and then I'm wisking away home for a short vacation. Whew. Hopefully by the end of the month, I'll have my beloved internet back.

Man, I miss having easy internet access. I mean, I have internet access at work and stuff, but then I'm just, you know, working. Anywho, I'm here late doing non-work related stuff, killing time before I go to look at a rental place. Fingers crossed, I really need to stop living out of a box on the farm. I don't see what landlords have against people with two dogs. Jude was a much bigger danger to home and hearth before he had a buddy to hang out with.
Everyday this week I've ridden my wienie-mobile through the coastal range and down into Newport. A commute that is an hour because of distance, rather than traffic, is not so bad, especially since I'm traveling through beautiful country. It would be much improved if my CD player or radio was working. Now it's just me, the peaceful morning mountaintop and a rousing a cappella chorus of Devo's "Whip it" to while away the drive.
The farm is peaceful-it sure is relaxing to watch the farmhands toil in the veggies while I loll about slugging down cheap wine on the front steps of my temporary abode. I'm camped out on a futon next to the bathroom, but I'm surrounded by lavendar, mexican sunflowers and a variety of other pretty blooms, so that's not so bad. Still, I hate being an imposition, and try to stay out of the way as much as possible.
Updates will be sporadic until I have real sho-nuff internet.

I had some free stuff up on Craigslist yesterday-always an amusing experience. A woman came and knocked on my door to let me know that all the free stuff was gone, and did I have any more free stuff? I told her no, except for the big pile of clothes I was gonna take to goodwill. Her face lit up, and she said, "Really? Can I have them?" So I loaded the 3 trashbags and huge box 'o clothes into her car and she took off down the road. Then, like a consciencious CLer, I deleted my post and hummed happily to myself in my empty office.
